Slovakia and Poland are divided by a river along the northern border in East Slovakia. The boat ride lasts for about one and a half hours. The boats are constructed from several canoes clamped together. Benches span the boat for seats. The boatsmen use long poles to guide the boat.

:Slovakia stops here, so we got out of the river. The Polish guard saw that I was trying to take his picture, so he hid behind the wooden sign on the left edge of the picture. We thought about crossing into Poland, just to say we’d been there, but we changed our mind.
